Good Work Network and the Alliance for Economic Inclusion (AEI) would like to invite you for participating in the 3rd Annual Southeast Louisiana Small Business Conference – Connections 2010: Accessing Opportunities for Growth. This year’s AEI conference will return to the Lindy Boggs Center at the University of New Orleans on November 4, 2010.
Building on the success of last year’s conference, this gathering will move beyond recovery to re-birth and expansion. Southeast Louisiana continues to recover from the disaster caused by Hurricane Katrina and now faces the new challenges resulting from the Deepwater Horizon disaster. For the health of the regional economy, small businesses must be an integral part of recovery and rebuilding activities.
The Southeast LA AEI was formed by the FDIC to address key economic issues and other recovery problems facing the small businesses of the region. The Southeast LA AEI represents a coalition of over 90 financial institutions, affordable housing advocates, small business development resource groups, the SBA, government officials, faith-based groups and federal bank regulatory officials. This group is working collectively on strategies and solutions to bring more of the unbanked and under banked into the financial mainstream.
This year’s conference – Connections 2010: Accessing Opportunities for Growth - will focus on a variety of topics that will assist small businesses and the financial institutions that serve them. The conference will also explore strategies for greater market access and business opportunities. The connections made at the conference will, in and of themselves, prove invaluable.
We hope that you and your associates can join us for this important event that will highlight access to capital, special incentives, procurement opportunities and technical assistance for small businesses. The conference brings together local and nationally recognized experts on a variety of small businesses development issues, the financial community, entrepreneurs and government.
